Yoga group classes at the Oval in London with Alonso Seixas

Hello, I'm Alonso.

I teach weekly mixed-ability yoga classes at  Kennington Oval, Stockwell, Brixton, Vauxhall and adjacent neighbourhoods.

My  method and ethos is to promote well-being through Hatha Yoga practice, supported by instruction about the philosophical and subtle aspects of this wonderful, ancient technique of self-refinement and cultivation.

I discovered yoga in Rio during the eighties. Having experienced the benefits that yoga brought to my personal life and health, it became a natural impetus for me to share this knowledge with others seeking good health, well-being and positive changes in their lives.

So I became a yoga teacher, after working as a hang-gliding instructor and musician.

My classes are delivered in a warm, friendly atmosphere where students are encouraged to progress at their own pace, gradually developing suppleness and physical strength combined with breath control, in a non-competitive environment. Here you'll experience a sense of community not easily found at at yoga studios. You'll notice a variety of body shapes, not only what you might think a yoga body should look like. All are welcome.

Ninety-minute group classes combining Pranayama (breath control), Asana (postures) and meditation will suit a complete beginner as well as a more experienced practitioner.

  • I’m insured as a teacher and hold a British Wheel of Yoga Level 4 diploma.

  • Certified in teaching yoga for people with disabilities.

  • Certified in Special Yoga and Mindfulness for Autism and ADHD
